Ben Youssef Madrasa

Located in Kaat Benahid. This building was once a madrassa (Islamic school), the largest in Morocco. The name 'Youssef' is derived from the name of Sultan Ali ibn Yusuf who ruled the region at that time. Madrasah was built in the 14th century along with Ben Youssef Mosque located next door.
